Although each manufacturer is different, a good rule of thumb is to plan 12-16 weeks for your special order. With that type of timing, you will have the universe of dresses available to you and shipped in plenty of time for your big event. So the bottom line is - it's never to late to find the PERFECT dress.
Is it important that I match the wedding party in terms of color when selecting my dress?
Contrary to old beliefs, as mother of the wedding, you are not officially part of the wedding party. You do not want to be considered as or dressed like the bridesmaids. Embrace your own sense of style and select a color that compliments the bridal party and your coloring – but no worries on the matching. Be you – you are perfect the way that you are.
I am the mother of the groom, I’ve always heard that I should wear a dress that was beige – is this true? I found a dress that is simply stunning – I love it. The color is perfect but I’m concerned about purchasing it. I look so good; I don’t want to show up the bride, it is her day after all. What do you think?
Old school – old thoughts. Cut it loose – this is 2007 and you are a real modern woman. Some ladies may look great in beige or neutrals – if you do and you love yourself in it – go for it.
